Randy Hayashi FA, BFA, BEd
Randy was born in 1968 in Edmonton, Alberta. He attended Grant MacEwan
College completing a two-year program in Fine Arts. He continued his
studies at the University of Alberta where he completed a Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree in Industrial Design in 1990 and later a Bachelor of
Education Degree in 2000.
Randy has been a graphic designer in Edmonton for over 15 years. He
was the Art Director for the inaugural year of Avenue Magazine in
Edmonton and his design work can be seen in numerous publications.
Randy now splits his time between graphic design and painting.
Randy enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing outdoor
activities such as hiking, biking or canoeing. These experiences in
the Rocky Mountains inspire his creativity. Whether through
illustrations or paintings, he continues to learn about new techniques
and materials. He has chosen to work in acrylics because of the
flexibility of the medium. Randy?s style is loose, painterly and
adapts to each unique subject with a fresh and creative approach.
Part of the attraction of creating art is that it can be shared with
others and in some mysterious way it makes a connection that is
meaningful to the viewer.
