Britta Seward

Britta Seward began her art career in Gothenburg, Sweden where she attended the Gothenburg School of Industrial Arts in 1968-69. Since then, she has completed various programs and has received her certificate of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Alberta.

Britta's inspiration for her lively watercolors, mixed media works and monotypes comes from nature. She is interested in the 'spirit and energy of the subject matter rather than the realistic depiction' and allows the surface of the paper to help establish 'the flow of line and the feeling of movement' of a painting.
